Golf Day July 2007

The Cricketers v The Sportspeople

In the second year of the competition for The 166 Jug, Gary Lineker captained The Sportspeople to a very tight victory over The Cricketers, captained by Gary Kirsten, at Mill Ride Golf Club, Berkshire. The result was eventually decided by a two hole playoff, won by The Sportspeople, represented by Brandon Caddow-Young and Eamonn 'Stiggy' Hodgson.

While the Sportspeople retained The 166 Jug for the second year, The Cricketers could be proud of Darren Stevens won the inaugural green jacket, with the best individual Stableford score.

The 166 Jug was presented to Gary Lineker by Zimbabwean six times European Tour winner Tony Johnstone.

The Cricketers were represented by Gary Kirsten, Eric Simons, Vince Wells, John Shepherd, Darren Stevens, Geraint Jones, Joe Denly, Nick Compton, Jack Birkenshaw and Roy Burns

The Sportspeople were represented by Gary Lineker, Brandon Caddow-Young, Eamonn 'Stiggy' Hodgson, Mark Bright, Glenn Hoddle, Russell Osman, Simon Holmes, Lloyd Scott, Dr. Ken Jennings and Ian Burns.

Caddies were George Lineker and Harrison Wells
