Search 4 A Star 2007
The third and biggest Search 4 A Star event took place during August and September 2007, with over 500 entrants taking part. A good turnout of bowlers braved the rain in East London to show their skills and potential to our judges at Ilford Cricket Club. Kent's Twenty/20 Final star Darren Stevens judged each entrant and offered tips and advice.
In the beautiful surroundings of Ipswich School our bowlers were under the watchful eye of Neil Burns and former-Essex bowler and coach Ray East.
Over in the West Country, David 'Syd' Lawrence was on hand to judge and coach a good turnout at Bristol West Indians Club. Then it was the turn of a couple of Test Grounds as we visited Old Trafford and Trent Bridge, where Notts County Coach Paul 'Johnno' Johnson and former South Africa Coach Eric Simons judged the entrants.
Neil Burns returned to his former county Somerset to judge the bowlers in Taunton while over at Canterbury Vince Wells and Darren Stevens assessed the potential in Kent.
The roadshow then visited two famous Test venues; The Brit Oval and Edgbaston, with Jack Birkenshaw and Devon Malcolm in attendance, before moving on the beautiful surroundings of Leicester University Sports Ground. Then it was back to Lord's for one final heat, judged by Grant Flower of Essex and Zimbabwe, Joe Sayers of Yorkshire and Billy Godleman of Middlesex and England under-19.
If you have ever felt that you have the talent, but not the opportunity, then THIS IS YOUR CHANCE. DON'T MISS OUT! Look out for our next event and come prove your skills over and over . |
