Golf Days & Leadership Workshops

In line with our London County Philosophy, we want people to enjoy an ‘London County Experience’ by participating in a sporting event which enables them to :

1. be part of ‘a collective vision’

2. be part of ‘a collective effort’

3. contribute to ‘a bigger picture’.

The format of our London County Golf Days is based on team competition to generate the feelings of ‘team spirit’ and social activities that highlight the behaviours involved in creating and sustaining the ‘collective effort’ which good Leadership inspires.

A unique brand of Golf Days combined with Leadership Workshops enable people to enjoy experiential learning as part of a team in a sporting context. Social interaction and competition (Individual, Pair, Four-Ball and Team) are followed by Dinner and presentation of prizes. The following day is offered as a Leadership Workshop to review learning from the Golf Day and reflect on Leadership issues with our Professional Mentors, in an informal environment at a World-Class venue.

The two teams are themed for the event and players are paired with another member of their team and drawn to play against a pairing representing the opposition. The two pairs play a matchplay format with the winning pair recording a point for their team, and so on throughout all the pairings playing in the Special Event. The Captain of the winning team is presented with a specially commissioned Trophy at the Dinner which follows the golf. Additionally, an alternative competition is played within this format, whereby the best two scores from all 4 players (Stableford points) in each Four-Ball are recorded on every hole. Prizes are also awarded for outstanding individual achievement on the day.

We create the rare experience of playing both with, and against, people in the same Four-Ball, as well as being ‘connected’ to the other Four-Ball matches in the overall Team Event. This integration helps develop the ‘inter-connected’ thinking between people which creates greater inclusion.

London County Golf Days can be tailor-made for Sponsors and their clients, for a minimum of 12 people and maximum of 72 people. Included in the field will be two Team Captains (provided by London County) with International Sporting pedigree to enhance the golfing, social and leadership experience.

Captain’s Days

‘Captain’s Days’ are our Special Events when we invite people to enter a Team of 3 and play with their two invited guests and a well-known Sportsperson. The Sponsor captains one pair and the Sportsperson captains the other pair in ‘The Bowlers’ versus ‘The Batsmen’ Challenge Days.

The Quarterly Special Events begin with a Dinner, including a Guest Speaker, and overnight accommodation the night before the Golf Day. Golf begins at 10 am with a shotgun start, 18 holes and Presentation of prizes, followed by a leisurely Lunch.
