On 8th September 2004, a Prestige Fixture with MCC was played to celebrate London County’s new beginning.

Honorary Club Captain Sir Vivian Richards skippered London County, 100 years after WG Grace, the original Founder, led the Club and scored 166 (his 126th and final first-class century) in the same fixture. The London County side comprised several other experienced First-Class Cricketers including Australian Michael Bevan alongside several 'talented and undiscovered cricketers'.
